Welcome FY2022-2023 Board Members

President Elect: Cathy Thompson
I will continue to encourage interior designers to recognize the value of belonging to an organization representing the interior design profession. Through community outreach programs, my goal is to clearly define the profession to the public and inform on how we serve. I am looking to educate and inspire a new generation of designers by having programs and events at the middle and. High school levels that introduce interior design profession to perspective students

Membership Director: Matt Rowen
In the age of COVID, I'd strive to develop and maintain stronger ties amongst our membership while growing our ranks.
The value of organizations has only increased as old ways of working and networking have fallen by the wayside, but we
need to be active in using novel technologies to connect, communicate, and above all, help to promote the value of great
design in the lives of our clients and communities.

At-At-Large Director: Lindsay Jones
Lindsay Jones graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design in May of
2015.

After working in the private design sector for 6 years as a Hospitality Interior Designer, and
earning her NCIDQ Certification, Lindsay made the move to Avalon Bay, a prominent Multi-Family Real
Estate Investment Trust.

As a Designer for the company’s 300 properties and growing, she works with teams of interior
designers and architects on all aspects of the design process - from development and space
programming, to concept design, furniture and finish selections, and project presentations.
Lindsay has been an active member of ASID since 2015, serving on the Emerging Professionals
Committee for the Maryland Chapter, and most recently as the Communications Director for the
Washington Metro Chapter. In 2020, Lindsay was awarded the ASID National’s “Ones to Watch” award,
which identifies and recognizes rising leaders in the interior design industry who demonstrate
exceptional leadership potential and willingness to push the boundaries of the profession.
Outside of the design industry, Lindsay is an avid photographer, traveler, and foodie.

If elected to the board, she hopes to bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to the Board, merging the realms
of commercial and residential designers to implement change at a local and achievable level.
